I think it is important to restore such a great piece of history to the town. The Grandview Farm and Marion Tavern would be an ideal meeting spot for all of the people who reside in this town. You could make it a restaurant and tavern. It would put money towards the upkeep of the building and would also be a great "townie" place to go. This town prides itself on being a close knit community. Other than the the various events of the weekend/seasons including sports and recreation this town lacks a place to call their own at the end of the day. We need a place that families can wander in and "everybody knows your name". People might say that Burlington has enough restaurants and we don't need another. Although there are many places to eat, there are not too many places we have to call "our" own. All of the businesses in the area support and keep those restaurants open.
Many historcial places have been converted into restaurants and taverns because of the charm that they possess. An Example of one would be the Wayside Inn in Sudbury. They have beautiful gardens and trails to walk around. They have the history of the land set up in rooms for you to explore. You could grab a quick pint and meet up with some friends or have a nice sit down dinner with your family. I think it would be a wondeful investment for anyone who enjoys being a local.
The history of Burlington shows that there have been many gatherings on the common and they would have sit down dinner celebrations to show their support for everyone in the town. I think bringing the The Grandview Farm and Marion Tavern back would unite the towns people once again.
